Write for your audience

Highlight what is most important in your opinion and explain why.

Tell a story

You may like to present your submission as a narrative, with a beginning, middle and end.

Try writing an opener to catch the attention of the audience, then talk about your experience and close out with what makes it so special.
Have a clear outcome in mind

Know what you want your audience to take away from your presentation.

Try to leave the audience with an understanding of your experience and what makes it so special.
What not to do

Do not write your presentation like an academic paper.

You can use humour; however, remember to be appropriate within the context.
Revise

Proof your submission by rewatching it by yourself and with friends and family.

Ask your friends & family for feedback.
Judges' Choice:
The winner as chosen by the judges will receive:
- $200 AUD or their national equivalent
- Branded UOW Merchandise
- Winner's Certificate signed by UOW Vice Chancellor
Peoples' Choice:
The winner of the Peoples' Choice voting will receive:
- $100 AUD or their national equivalent
- Branded UOW Merchandise
- Peoples' Choice Certificate signed by UOW Vice Chancellor
Finalists:
The finalists from each UOW entity will receive:
- Finalists certificate signed by respective UOW leadership
Rules:

Submissions should be between 60 to 180 seconds (1 to 3 minutes)

Videos must meet the following criteria:
-
Spoken or subtitled for an English-speaking audience;
-
Filmed at least in part on location at your campus;
-
Filmed on the horizontal/landscape orientation;
-
The submission may include additional props within the recording (e.g. costumes, musical instruments, laboratory equipment and animated backgrounds).

Presentations are to be spoken word (e.g. no poems, raps or songs).
-
Additional electronic media (e.g. sound, video or image files) are permitted within the video recording.
-
Any submissions including such media must be entirely copyright compliant.

The decision of the adjudicating panel & peoples’ choice voting is final.

Submissions via video format as an unlisted upload on YouTube (only video link provided to Event Coordinators). Files sent in other formats will not be accepted.

Submissions should be sent to the organising committee for your relevant institution. Competitors should not submit their videos directly to UOW or the Global Collaborate Conference Committee.
All submissions will first be judged on a per-institution basis, identifying one finalist from each UOW entity. The finalists will be assessed by a panel of representatives from each institution - check back here for the final list of judges!
